Satellite-based cellular network backup provides numerous benefits to MNOs. Since the satellite network completely bypasses your primary terrestrial infrastructure, it provides both a reliable and easy-to-deploy broadband solution for serving affected areas.

Gilat’s satellite-based network backup solution allows MNOs to deploy a VSAT network for cellular backhaul in any location, with modest power and infrastructure requirements. VSATs for cellular backhaul can be installed at either a fixed site or on a mobile platform. As soon as a network failure is detected, the backup satellite network kicks in and takes over all backhauling activities in order to preserve business continuity.

In emergency response scenarios, our Cellular on Wheels (CoW) solution, including a VSAT and a cellular base station, can be easily transported to the required location. We also provide lightweight flyaway terminals that can be delivered by helicopter or carried in a backpack or suitcase.
